How to Use Tarot For Prediction

Are you wondering how you can use Tarot for prediction? Do you want to know how to predict the future using Tarot? Do you want to give more accurate predictions for love, business, relationships, answering yes or no questions, and more? If you want to know your future using Tarot, read on!

Prediction is the ultimate goal of most Tarot card readers. In fact, predicting the future is what brings most readers to divination in the first place. However, accurately predicting the future is something many readers struggle with.

Prediction is such a massive topic with many layers, and it’s not possible to get everything out I want to say in a single article. However, I can point you in the right direction.

How to Use Tarot for Prediction

Below are my top twelve tips I have for accurately predicting the future using Tarot cards.

Read Fate, Destiny, and Free Will

Obviously, there are a lot of parts to understanding fate, destiny, free will, and how it all relates to Tarot reading. However, it is essential that you know more about these matters if you would like to learn how to use Tarot for prediction.

I like to think of destiny as your highest good, your full potential. Your destiny is what God, the spirits, and the universe approve of. When we speak of something destined, we discuss it as if it’s something that’s ‘meant to be.’ The universe, God, and the spirits bring things that are meant to be into our lives as if by magic. For example, a chance meeting at a bus stop with the love of your life is something we can say is meant to be. However, just because something is apparently meant to be doesn’t mean that it has to be.

Humans can struggle against their highest good. As a Tarot reader, you probably see it all the time. You’ll warn a client that a guy is no good for them, yet they still pursue the relationship. You know the link is not meant to be, but they persistently go back over and over again. They use their free will to fight against what is and isn’t meant to be.

The next thing we know, fate steps in. Fate is the universe acting on our behalf. Suddenly, your client phones, crying that their shitty boyfriend has woken up one day and magically stopped loving them. Their ex is now living with a new girl, is engaged, and she’s pregnant – all within six weeks of meeting her.

When you read Tarot, you’re not just throwing cards and hoping for the best. You’re reading the cosmic dance of fate, destiny, and free will. You are respecting that not everything is in our control, but that not everything is out of it either; it’s a balance. Hold the intention of interpreting this balance, and your readings will be more accurate.

Connect to Your Ancestors

Many newbie (and even experienced) Tarot readers assume that if they want to give better Tarot readings, they need to rely on their intuition. While this is true, you also need some type of spiritual aspect to your reading practice. If you want to learn how to use Tarot for prediction, you must learn how to work with spirits outside of yourself.

Before a reading, you should always ask your ancestors for spiritual assistance from your ancestors. Tell them to show you the course of action that’s in line with your destiny. Feel their presence. Petitioning your ancestors before performing your readings will make all the difference.

Connecting to your ancestors is something I cover extensively in my work because I believe that this is the quickest way to be able to form a ‘link’ with spirit for readings.

Have a Ritual

Our next step for learning how to use Tarot for predictions, is to have a ritual. Most Tarot readers can predict, but they don’t remember their predictions because they make them in passing – this is especially true for people who read themselves on hard topics like love and business.

Having some type of ritual can make your readings feel important. If your readings feel special, you will take them more seriously and remember your predictions. Not taking your readings for granted also means you’ll be less likely to keep re-throwing your cards on the same thing, and you will read the entire spread (more on that below).

I’m superstitious about my cards. I don’t let other people touch them (not even my clients), and I especially don’t allow other people to read with my primary deck. Before I use a deck for readings, I form a ‘relationship’ with it; I carry it around everywhere as if it’s a second limb.

On top of these rituals, I petition my spirits into my space before a reading. For critical readings, I reorder my cards and then reshuffle them. These are only some of the things I do before a predictive reading.

You will need to design your own rituals that are personal to you. It may seem like a lot of work, but I swear they’ll make your readings more accurate.

Don’t Underestimate Court Cards

Love them or hate them, Court Cards are the backbone of prediction. Without being able to read Courts accurately, you will never be able learn how to use Tarot for prediction.

Believe it or not, 99.99% of predictive readings will involve people other than you (if you’re reading yourself) or your client (if you’re reading other people). You’re not just reading one person; you’re essentially reading the entire universe.

Our interactions with other people shape our world and significantly affect our lives. Other people are co-architects of our futures. Think about it. Relationship success is dependent on the two of you getting along. Business success is dependent on customers. Social media success is dependent on followers.

In Tarot reading, Court cards represent the other people who have an impact on the situation, so you must learn to read them effectively.

Set Your Intentions

Before you even begin to perform your Tarot reading, you have to set your intentions. Setting your plans for predicting the future will ensure that you don’t second-guess yourself and change your mind when you don’t get the outcome you desire.

All you need to say before the reading is something like, “I wish to know the future of Jose and me.” Otherwise, you’re just going to get a mountain of jigsaw pieces you’re going to have to dig through.

Use the Right Spread

Usually, Tarot readers become frustrated with their readings when they have no set framework for making predictions. They use the wrong type of spread for the job, then scratch their heads wondering why their reading never worked out the way they originally intended.

If you want to predict the future and you use spreads, you need to use a Tarot spread with the right spread positions. You must use a spread that takes all relevant factors into account so that you can conjure up a prediction.

Setting out to predict the future is one of the reasons why the Celtic Cross is so famous. The Celtic Cross sets out to predict when, where, why, and how. You can effortlessly combine all these factors together to form your prediction.

Don’t get me wrong, once you become good at prediction, selecting the correct spread becomes less critical. However, if you’re not accustomed to making predictions, a half-decent spread is the best place to start.

Work on Your Interpretations

It may sound pretty obvious, but you have to be able to interpret cards accurately on the matter you’re reading about. Otherwise, you’ll get confused. If you don’t know what cards mean when they land in certain positions in some styles of readings (for example, the Four of Pentacles in the future position of a love reading), you’re not going to know what it means when it comes up for you. If you can’t interpret cards for a range of situations, you must work on this while learning how to make predictions with Tarot.

Work on Your Techniques

One of my primary pet peeves is when Tarot readers sit on Facebook groups advising less experienced Tarot readers to throw the book away.

Don’t throw the book away; keep your books. Hold onto them because prediction is, ironically, unpredictable.

There have been times when I’ve read a technique in a book and taken a mental note of it because it was so exciting. Years later (literally ten years later), I would then use that technique in a reading. Even if it happens eons from now, something you learn today from a book can be useful in the future.

There’s nothing shameful about listening to people who bring something new to the table. Moreover, you need to be consistently learning because prediction is elusive. When you sit down at that reading, you never know what type of information you’re going to use. If you want to be a predictive reader, you must always be educating yourself.

Avoid the Self-Help Trap

Avoid the self-help trap like the plague, especially when reading for others. Don’t get me wrong; there will be situations when you give advice. If you’re not a heartless rock, you will be providing your seekers (and yourself) help, but you mustn’t stop there.

How to make accurate predictions with Tarot cards
As a divination teacher, my goal is to get all of my students making predictions. Predictive divination makes the world go around!

I often see readers who give advice but don’t state specifics. You have to dig deeper. Where are you getting this advice? Where is this advice coming from? Why are you giving this specific piece of advice? What situation is it linked to?

A classic example is that of a relationship with The Tower in the future. You know it’s dying. It’s the end of the road for the partnership. Instead of giving your seeker the facts, you dance around the issues and provide them with lots of self-help tips.

Here’s the thing: you’re not reading Tarot to appease, you’re reading to be right.

You may worry that knowing the future, especially when it’s a negative one, is damaging. The reality is that you won’t be able to see things you’re not meant to see. There will of course be things you’re not supposed to see and therefore can’t predict. However, if you do see it, you need to trust that it’s there for a reason. Be sensitive, but you should always disclose what you have predicted.

If there are certain things you simply don’t like to predict, refuse to perform issues on those topics. For example, I won’t read on pregnancies. However, reading things like break-ups and business failures are part of the job, so you have to get used to the truth.

Read the Whole Spread

If you’re performing a reading (especially a love Tarot reading for yourself), you’ll probably fall into the habit of only looking at the outcome/future positions and ignoring the rest of the spread. However, if you don’t read the whole spread, your reading is invalid.

Mostly, when you sit down to perform any Tarot reading, you have the subconscious goal of predicting the future and outcome. Therefore, all cards in the spread are relevant to your question, not just the future positions in any given spread.

You must read the past, present, obstacles, opinions of others, and every other part of the spread as if it answers your question. Your spread as a whole weighs up the pros and cons. The entire reading is the essay, and the ‘outcome’ card is the conclusion; it pulls the rest of your reading together.

A good reader can predict the future even without having a spread with an outcome or future position. This is because they can read between the lines and see whether the positives outweigh the negatives. Remember, read the entire book, not just the last page!

Wait Out Your Tarot Predictions

I’m not going to lie; there have been times when I’ve been incorrect. I’ve made the wrong predictions sometimes. I’m only human, and humans make mistakes. However, there have also been plenty of times when I’ve thought I was wrong and was in fact dead wrong about that!

One of the hardest parts of learning how to use Tarot for prediction, is accepting that not all predictions will happen quickly. Sometimes you have to wait.

More times than I’d like to admit, I’ve left Tarot readings worried that I made a mistake, or saw a post on Facebook by one of my clients that reflected the complete opposite of what I had previously predicted. At the time, I kicked myself, only to later discover that my initial prediction was proven correct.

One time that especially sticks in my mind was a reading I performed on a woman. I predicted that she and her partner would soon separate. One year later, I saw a Facebook post that they had gotten engaged. I assumed no separation had taken place until she contacted me to inform me that they had actually separated after the reading. Their eventual engagement marked their reconciliation.

Another time, I was the seeker and had gotten a reading during a Tarot event. The reader told me that I would get so close to a significant commitment from my partner at the time, but that he would pull out at the last minute. I would then meet someone else at a bar.

I took the reading severely and refused to believe it. However, sure enough, a year later, my partner and I had rented a house together, but he pulled out two days before we were set to move in. I lived by myself in that house and later left my partner. The guy at the bar was an ex I had bumped into at a party in front of the bar; after that night, we reconciled our relationship. The Tarot reader was right about everything.

Just because your predictions look like they’re not set to happen now doesn’t mean they won’t occur in the future. Moreover, what you see from your clients on social media is always only half the story. You could be right all along and don’t even realize it, so don’t let being ‘wrong’ affect your confidence in yourself for making predictions.

Have Confidence if You Want to Learn How to Make Predictions with Tarot

You can’t be afraid of being wrong. If you want to be able to make predictions with Tarot accurately, you must have the confidence to put out there whatever’s in your mind and heart.

This might sound strange, but confidence with Tarot doesn’t come from confidence-building exercise and chakra clearings. Instead, confidence originates from being 100% certain that your ancestors are there. It comes from knowing that you’re in this line of work for a reason. Not to sound like a basic Instagram meme, but you have to trust the process.

One way I teach my students to build their confidence is to show them how to work with signs. A form of divination known as apantomancy, working with signs is relatively easy. All you have to do is ask your ancestors for spirits for signs – these are manifestations of your ancestors’ presence in real life.

When you’re shown time and time again that spirit is there and the universe is aligning, it makes you more confident in your readings. Doubt fades away. You know what’s going to happen, and that knowing is clear. For you, there will be no ifs, ands, or buts about it; an outcome will be an outcome whether your client argues with you or not.

Having confidence in your predictions also means having the courage to tell your clients when you don’t know the future. If you perform a reading and the outcome looks uncertain or you can only predict for a short time, say so! Never be afraid to tell your clients something like, “There’s going to be a make or break discussion, but I can’t see what’s beyond that.”

How Fortune-Telling Predicts the Future

How can fortune-telling predict the future? How can fortune tellers and psychics use tools and methods to tell people what is going to happen during love (and general) readings? How Tarot readers, make accurate predictions, and is it real and true that they can? Here is how divination and fortune-telling predicts the future!

The future can be predicted using fortune-telling. I have seen it for myself. I have predicted, for myself. I assume that you have also made predictions or have had a reading which has come true, and that is why you are reading this blog. I am also confident that, at some point in your life, if you believe you can predict with Tarot you will have to justify your beliefs to others.

One of the greatest battles we face as predictive readers, is the assumption that we do not believe in free will. People assume that if we think the future can be predicted, then it must be set in stone, unchangeable and that we like to believe our clients are shackled to the misery that is their fate. It is this assumption which forces many people to reject fortune-telling.

Well, I don’t know about you, but for me, this is certainly not true. Where would the fun be without free will? What would be the point in life? Then there are the moral implications as well; where would our responsibility lie if there was no such thing as free will?

I believe that fate, destiny, and free will work together. It may appear contradictory that I think free will and destiny co-exist. However, these concepts do not conflict with each other; they work in harmony to give life meaning and direction.

Your destiny is not something that is holding you against your will. Your destiny is your full potential. Your destiny is what can be, what you can have if you follow the signs from the universe, and go in the right direction. Destiny is all that is good and wonderful. A life lived from a place of destiny is a comfortable life. However, many people do not follow their destiny, and this is where life gets tricky.

There are callings we do not listen to, soulmates we reject, past times we love but do not build jobs around. The signs are there that some things are meant to be for us: we obsess over them, do them for fun, and yet we do not take the full leap, we sit idle telling ourselves that it is only other people who live the lives we dream about. We assign our passion to the realm of a hobby. Using our free will we reject the things which truly make us happy, which warm our souls, which are our destiny.

We live lives that are so far away from our full potential it is sickening. We settle for relationships that are painful, jobs which we hate. We wait for tomorrow to be happy. We ignore the signs that something better is out there because we get comfortable in the false sense of security that a controlling lover or steady job brings us. We chase men who do not want us and careers we will never excel in because we have built this web which convinces us that if we don’t let go and cut loose, the universe will let us crash to the ground.

We reject or chase our destiny using our free will. We can decide to surrender to the unknown or fight against it. We can stay in the box or break it down. We can choose happiness or settle for existence. We manipulate ourselves into thinking that existence is the safe option which comes with no surprises but playing it safe is rarely ever danger-free or permanent.

By an act of divine intervention, that which is too far away from our destiny often doesn’t last: this is where fate comes into the mix. Have you ever tried your hardest for something only to watch it fall apart? That lover who changes overnight? That job you cannot get? What we often brush off as just bad luck is actually fate; fate often steps in to pull apart the road which veers too far from our destiny.

The good news is that fate brings us blessings in disguise. It is often not till years later once we chase and work with our destiny that we are grateful life turned out the way it did. You meet a much better man who didn’t come with all of the emotional baggage of your last partner or you start your own business and truly live to work (and not the other way around).

Growing up, I always loved divination, but I convinced myself that I had to get an average job after the birth of my daughter. I played it safe. I went back to school, then to college.

While I attended college, I got great qualifications, won attendance awards, and obtained fantastic references. Through two charities I got trained in computing and financial matters. I had a professional CV made. I lived next to Scotland’s capital city and every week I literally applied for hundreds of jobs in three different counties. You would think that I would have had a chance at employment now wouldn’t you?

In those 4, nearly five years I only had three interviews. And, apparently, the interviews didn’t go too well. Not just that but the signs were there that I wasn’t going ever to get a job. I began to get the feeling my progress was being blocked. My library card would disappear out of my pocket when I was going down to apply for jobs. I would try to sign into my Government Job Search account and (despite having the passwords written down) I would be denied access. The printer would break every time I would try to print my CV. The phone numbers on the job advert would be disconnected. I would get to the post office to post applications, and it would be closed due to some freak accident involving fire and a banana. That was my life day in day out.

In Gypsy culture, we have this philosophical concept known as prikaza. Prikaza are basically signs from spirits, ancestors, and the universe that you’re doing something wrong. My family took my misfortune as a sign that my job hunt was always going to be fruitless. They would say things like “oh well that’s a sign. However, there must be something better for you out there”! Clearly, my poverty-stricken-self had a difficult time believing that to be true.

Now that I work in the spiritual industry professionally, I can see what my family meant. I honestly believe that this is my destiny, and I would much rather be doing what I’m doing now than working in one of those jobs I applied for out of a place of desperation.

Building my business wasn’t always a walk in the park, but at least I made reasonable, consistent progress and then my career took off. Eighteen months after setting up my business and working hard I went from a chronically unemployed single parent with only £3 in her bank to being an international award winner with thousands of social media followers, 50inch TVs in my living room. Days once reserved for the job center now involve sitting on the beach writing magazine articles. All this because I found a book in the library. If that’s not magical, I don’t know what is.

During my unemployment years, I used to ask my cards what I was meant to do, and I kept getting the High Priestess. Being too emotionally invested in the situation, I didn’t know what this meant. Other psychics had also told me that one day I would be a well-known reader and write a book about Tarot (spoiler alert I didn’t believe that was possible). When it comes to divination, I think that the signs were there that being a professional reader was what was to be for me.

The universe and spirits around us send us signs to usher us towards our destiny. These signs are either through nature, and natural means or they come to us through deliberate means i.e. in Tarot readings. We can use the cards as markers to pinpoint if we are going down the right path or if the road is not our destiny and will not last.

To have faith in destiny is not to give up trying, belief in destiny means that there is a point in trying. Destiny says there is something better out there for our clients if they trust in their signs, in the universe, and in themselves. I don’t know about you, but for me, destiny sounds like a pretty wonderful thing.

How to Receive Messages From Your Ancestors Using Tarot

How can you receive messages from your ancestors using Tarot? Your relationship with your ancestors should not be confined to Halloween. As a psychic, Tarot reader and diviner, you should aim to strengthen your spiritual connection to your ancestors every single day.

Little things which you can do to acknowledge and honor your ancestors include having photographs of passed relatives around your home and talking about them often.

The Key to Spiritual Development?

Having a relationship with your ancestors has many benefits. Not only will it improve your peace of mind, but your readings will be stronger and more accurate.

Before all of my readings, I ask my ancestors and passed relatives to help me give the best readings possible. However, you do not only need to ask for assistance before your readings. You can also ask your ancestors for advice through your readings.

Here is a fun exercise which you can do with your Tarot cards. Remove all of the Major Arcana from your deck and place the rest of your deck to one side. Next, shuffle your Major Arcana cards as normal but do so while thinking of your ancestors and an issue which you need guidance on. Then pull a card.

Messages from the Ancestors with Tarot

The card you receive will correspond to one of the following pieces of advice:

The Fool “Take those risks and don’t worry about what other people think.”

The Magician “Thoughts become things! Work on your mindset.”

The High Priestess “Your psychic development should be a priority. Develop your intuition.”

The Empress “There are people around you who need your nurturing and support.”

The Emperor “Be a leader.”

The Hierophant “Do not discount the advice of older, wiser people.”

The Lovers “If it does not fill you with desire it is not worth bothering about”

The Chariot “Move ahead with your plans because the time is going to pass anyway.”

Strength “Show you care, but take no shit.”

The Hermit “It is better to be happy alone than miserable with a lover, friend or family member.”

The Wheel of Fortune “Your luck is turning.”

Justice “People always get what they deserve.”

The Hanged Man “Nothing great was ever achieved without sacrifice. Be prepared to give up your time, energy, or money so that you can move on to the next stage.”

Death “The person you’re becoming will cost you greatly but chose them over everything.”

Temperance “Create a space of your own which will become your sanctuary.”

The Devil “The heart wants what the heart wants. You cannot control human nature.”

The Tower “What is created will be destroyed. What has been cleared makes space for growth.”

The Star “There is hope in your current situation – remain optimistic.”

The Moon “You do not have to know all of the aspects of a situation to be able to make choices. You can choose at any time.”

The Sun “The future looks bright for you. Success is coming”

Judgment “No matter how life-changing a decision is, make it quick!”

The World “New beginnings are on the horizon. This next year will be the year which changes everything.”

You can do this exercise as often as you like, but I think that it is best performed just before the start of something new. For example, just before the start of the new year, a birthday, or a project.

Closing Thoughts on Using Tarot to Receive Messages from your Ancestors

That’s all for how you can receive messages from your ancestors using Tarot! Did you give this technique a try? Which card did you receive? Feel free to let me know in the comments below!

Signs that Your Psychic Abilities Are Developing

Do you want to know what the signs are that you are developing your psychic abilities? Are you suddenly feeling more psychic? Is your psychic awareness developing?

My name is Lisa Boswell, and I teach divination, fortune-telling, and psychic development professionally and full-time. My specialty is teaching psychic readers how they can perform, improve, and promote their readers, whether they use Tarot or Lenormand cards.

Many of the over one million people who come to my websites every year visit because they are interested in divination as a form of psychic development. I believe that reading Tarot and Lenormand is one of the fastest ways in which you can develop your claircognizance abilities.

Whether you think so or not, you can read a card system like Tarot. You do not have to consider yourself psychic, but many people are attracted to Tarot because their natural psychic abilities are growing and expanding. If this is you, you’re ready to start fortune telling!

Signs that Your Psychic Abilities Are Developing

So, what are the signs that your psychic abilities are developing? Here is my list:

  • You are attracted to divination. While you never considered reading Tarot before, you are suddenly very interested in buying a card deck. (And if you are a beginner, you can download a free guide at the bottom of this post).
  • Your dreams are more vivid. You can now recall people, places, and things you have told during your dreams when you could not before.
  • You know who is going to call or text before they do.
  • You pick up on other people’s emotions. You know whether or not someone is upset with you, even if they say that they are not.
  • You feel drawn to people before they become relevant in your life. For example, you might stalk people you know on social media before they magically (and out of nowhere) enter your social circle.
  • You have started noticing signs from spirits, such as white feathers or rainbows. You know they are important, so you have started to photograph them with your phone.
  • You start to notice the same ‘sign’ or symbol over and over again. For example, you keep seeing spiders in strange places.
  • You repeatedly see certain number sequences such as 111 or 333.
  • You have started to notice that you are hearing songs or phrases which you would connect to a past relative. For example, you keep on hearing your grandfather’s funeral song.
  • Suddenly, you are drawn to other psychics. You may even start to follow psychic readers on Snapchat or Instagram.
  • You have become aware of psychic development as a facade of life. When you visit a book store, the self-development or psychic development sections jump out at you.
  • You begin to dislike friends for no reason. Eventually, you and that friend have a major falling out; it was almost as if you could sense that it was about to happen.
  • You have psychics in your family and have recently become more interested in them, especially if they are deceased. Although psychic ability is not genetic, some families are more likely to have readers in them. For example, I have many diviners in my family, partly because I am a Romany Gypsy but also because we have naturally strong pre-cognitive abilities.
  • You have a strong sense that there is something that you’re supposed to do, but you do not know what that something is. Whatever it is, it feels huge, and the thought of tackling the task feels impossible.
  • However, you now accept things as they happen and are more at peace with what is meant to be.
  • You have developed a need to minimize suffering, whether that be the suffering of people or animals. You have maybe even started to donate to charities you were not drawn to before.
  • You are starting to notice more ‘psychic’ things and seek out information on psychic awareness. For example, you might have a strong need to Google psychic development or fortune-telling.
  • You know that there is something wrong without being told. If a relative is in trouble, you have a feeling that something bad is happening.
  • You have become more superstitious. You have become very conscious of not walking under ladders or over three drains. You may have even started to find clovers.
  • You have an overwhelming desire to develop your psychic abilities. For example, you want to read more about developing your abilities or wish to take a development course

If five or more of the above points sound like you, then your psychic abilities are indeed developing. Congratulations! You can now do things that will encourage the growth of those abilities, such as taking a course or learning a method of divination, such as Tarot.

Whether or not you are already a Tarot reader, you may want to do something to encourage your psychic abilities to develop further so that you can make better predictions and improve your readings. Once per year, I open my psychic development course, The Psychic Course for enrollment.

You can find out more about that here – The Psychic Course

How to Receive Signs From Spirit

How can you receive signs from spirit? What are the common signs from spirit and heaven? And, can you use them for psychic and spiritual gifts? Today, I am going to share a story with you so that you can learn how to develop your mediumship abilities and psychic reading skills.

How I Learned how to Receive Signs from Spirit

My granny hates flies. Whenever they come into the house, she swats them. When I was younger, my granddad (her husband) used to tell me that when he died, he would reincarnate as a fly to torture my granny. No joke, my granny constantly has flies coming into her home. She swats them, but they just keep coming back.

Animals often appear as messages from spirits
Animals often appear as messages from spirits

Because of my granddad’s comments, I just cannot kill an insect or spider. It sounds pretty nuts, but there is a part of me that sense that it may be an ancestor, especially with certain insects such as ladybugs. I associate bugs with my granddad’s side of the family, so when I see one in a strange place, that ‘what if’ always crosses my mind.

Gypsies are huge on omens. To us, everything is a sign. We believe the future can be read not just by divination tools but happenings in day to day life. Nothing is believed to be a coincidence; everything has happened for a reason. A sign will show if something is meant to be or not meant to be for you. Signs can be messages from the spirit world, God, or the universe. Situations going right or wrong are signs.

Am I Receiving Signs from Spirit?

Seeing the same thing over and over again are signs. Anything out of the ordinary is usually a sign. Dreams and even in some cases, the weather may be signs. If you are ever lost or uncertain in life or getting nowhere, you can read the signs which will point you in the right direction.

My grandad’s brother (my great uncle) owned a yard next door to my house when we were growing up. When my family’s trailers weren’t there, my cousins and I would go and play in the yard. The yard was always swarming with ladybugs, so I associated them with my uncle.

My uncle died several years ago. The night my uncle died, there was a ladybug in my house crawling up my daughter’s bedroom door, in the dead of winter. It made me wonder, ‘what if.’

A month after he died, I went for an interview at a psychic shop. The owner of the shop was a fantastic reader, and it was the first time I had ever performed a Lenormand reading, but she thought I was an expert (that’s another story which is quite funny). I literally took the plastic wrap off of my cards on the bus through to my interview. Needless to say, I was crapping myself.

Unlike other readers, I don’t have a spirit guide, God, or Goddess, which I pray to, so I tend to pray to my ancestors before Tarot readings. I began doing this some years ago when I had a tooth out. That day, this calm came over me in the dentist’s chair, and I sat at ease. Because it worked, I started doing it every time I was nervous, including before readings.

Anyroad, back to the story!

I get to this psychic shop, and the owner invites me out for a cigarette (I smoked at the time). I acted cool as a cucumber, but inside I was crapping myself. As I stood there, I started to think through my prayer to my relatives’ spirits.

When the owner finished, she brisked past me, and a white feather floated in front of me onto the street. I couldn’t ignore this feather – I had taken this as a sign.

Minutes later, I performed the reading. I don’t mean to brag, but it was certainly one of my better ones. Because she liked my style and the reading was accurate, she hired me to rent a room, do events across the country, etc. You know that way where you perform a reading really well, and you dance inside? That was me that day.

On the way home, I was sitting on the bus with my UGG boots on. I looked down and low and behold a Ladybug was crawling around the rim of my boot. I snapped a picture (pictured below), and it sat with me the rest of the journey. When it was time to get off the bus, it got its little wings ready and flew out of the window.

How to receive signs from heaven
As you can see, the ladybug was happily walking around my shoe!

This may sound crazy to other people, but I know my relatives were there that day helping me out with my reading like they do all of the time. I understand the concept of signs may be a bit difficult for people to grasp, but working with signs can greatly enhance your life. The first step is establishing a sign.

Is this a Sign?

Intuitively, you will know it is a sign when you see one. It is the kind of thing which makes you say, “That’s odd.” When you’re sent a sign, there will be a part of you that will click because your spirit will sense it has gotten confirmation for your body. The important thing to remember is that signs are personal;

– They may hold special significance to you, as above with my uncle and the ladybugs.

– They keep reappearing. When I was growing up, I kept seeing rainbows during important events in my life. I had begun photographing these rainbows before I realized they were sent to me by a relative.

– They have cultural significance to you. You may associate a particular sign with your ancestors.

– They can be confirmed by a medium. A psychic medium may tell you to look out for a sign, and then you begin to notice that sign is everywhere.

– You just like something. You have a draw or a fascination towards something for unexplainable reasons (I was a bit like this with the rainbows).

I’ve Established my Sign, Now What?

Once you establish a sign is significant to you, be prepared to begin to see it everywhere! Try asking for a sign or for reassurance and see how you get on.

In general, working with signs is a ‘safe’ way to connect with spirit because it doesn’t require any of possession style interference or so-called ‘linking.’ All that you have to do to develop this way is to notice the messages spirit sends you in the outside world, and as you do, the spirits will gradually make themselves more known to you.

Apantomancy: Using Signs for Divination

Not everyone knows what Apantomancy divination is, and yet, millions of people worldwide practice it. In the UK, you practice Apantomancy every time you avoid a black cat, magpie, or refer to Doreen Virtues “Angel Numbers” guidebook.

So, what is Apantomancy?

Apantomancy is divination by omens you come across by chance. Apantomancy is a form of divination which you can practice on the go. Say, you are on your way to an important event, and you see a caterpillar on the way. What is the significance of this animal? Why is it in your path? Perhaps you keep seeing the number three. Why would the number three consistently make an appearance in your life?

Like most fortune telling modes, Apantomancy is personal. I feel that, to an extent, to be a proficient Apantomancer, one must have a good foundation of what certain symbols mean to them.

An Example of Apantomancy Divination

I, for one, love magpies and feel they are a good omen; it does not bother me to see them. I feel the same about black cats because my family refused to keep any other cat than a black one while I was growing up. (The sexy beast in this post is my cat Billy Jean).

The Meaning of Apantomancy
Some people would say that Billy Jean is unlucky because he is black. However, I think that he is kind of perfect.

By contrast, there are a lot of animals that some people would deem adorable or a lucky precursor, but I would see it as a negative sign. For example, I hate monkeys (as do many other Gypsies) and think they are terrible creatures. If I were to ask my spirits for a sign and then see a monkey unexpectedly, I would view this as unlucky.

How to Practice Apantomancy

You can ask spirits for signs in your day to day life. Say you are unsure if you are making the right decisions, you can ask your spirits around you (such as relatives) to give you a sign. Then, go for a walk. Anything that you see out of the ordinary is a sign. If you think it is a coincidence, ask for another sign, and so on.

While doing this post, I asked the spirits if I should continue writing about forms of divination or work on something else. Previously, I had lit incense that I accidentally placed in front of a statue of Ganesh in my living room; Ganesh is the Hindu God of opportunities that my ancestors possibly worshiped. Anyroad, I looked over to the statue and noticed that the burnt incense had not fallen but risen, which is rather odd. Was this sheer coincidence, or were the spirits trying to tell me to continue? I think it means I should continue, and therefore I wrote this post.

Although my example was that of incense, omens usually appear in the form of animals, but they can also be numbers, objects, and even the weather. You will know when something is significant because you will see it repeatedly or in a strange place. It is not the norm for a fox to be running through the streets of a busy town, for example. Some commonly seen symbols are the number one, butterflies, feathers, cats, hands, and triangles.

Beware: It is Kind of Strange

The odd thing about this form of divination is that the Apantomancer is sometimes the only person who sees the sign. Often, they will be with a friend, but the friend will not see what it was that they just saw. I have met people who, for instance, have had bats swoop down and sit next to them then fly away. Other people have been there during these events but have not witnessed the actual event in question.

I am unsure why it is the Apantomancer is the only person who receives the sign. I theorize that this adds an element of ‘special’ to the event that ensures the receiver pays extra attention. Often, the more people who witness prognostic symbols, the less likely they are to notice any individualized and personal significance.

Apantomancy signs in divination and fortune telling
You can receive signs from the comfort of your own home. However, if you get out and walk about, you will come across plenty of signs, such as an unexpected bridge or animal.

Interpret the Meaning of Apantomancy Divination

If you know that a sign has significance but are unsure what, a book on symbolism or dream interpretation may be able to help you. However, go with your gut; if you think an omen is positive, but a book is trying to convince you otherwise trust your intuition. Here at Divinerism, I advocate, a personal relationship with your spirituality, so always listen to your own inner voice and spirits before taking outside opinions on board.

It is okay for you to be a little skeptical at first and brush off an incident as a sheer coincidence. There are no laws in the universe that state that spirits cannot try to convince you — seen one sign? Soon you’ll see another. Thinking it is a coincidence? Ask the spirits for confirmation.

Work with Deities, Archetypes and Mythological Figures in Tarot

How can we work with mythological figures in Tarot? When we ask the tarot a question, who are we really asking? From where do we seek our guidance and wisdom? Who’s really telling us the answers, the wisdom, the guidance?

The wisdom, guidance and information received from tarot can come from different sources; sometimes we see this information coming from within ourselves, our higher self or even Spirit / the Universe.

For some tarot readers, this information can be viewed as coming from spirit guides, ancestors or loved ones in spirit – sometimes perceived as a mediumship-style tarot reading (or classified under that terminology.)

But, can we also apply this technique to other entities such as deities, archetypes or even mythological figures to get the answers we seek through the tarot?

Working with deities, archetypes and mythological figures in tarot readings can be as effective as doing tarot readings that call upon spirit guides or even Spirit.

Let’s look at archetypes first as these concepts are prevalent in the tarot and collectively in society, culture and even psychology.

Working with Archetypes in Tarot Readings

An archetype is described as a typical example of a certain person or thing; or a recurrent symbol or motif in literature, art or mythology.

Jungian archetypes are described as “universal, archaic patterns and images that derive from the collective unconscious and are a psychic counterpart of instinct.” (Wikipedia

In tarot, the major arcana has predominant archetypes, notably:

The Hermit seen as a sage, wise, old man who is isolated but guides others as a type of psychopomp to help them on their journey.

The Empress as the Mother archetype in the prime of her life as nurturer, provider and caregiver.

The Emperor as the masculine archetype, also father figure and counterpart to the Empress as Mother.

We can work with archetypes to get the answers we seek from the perspective of the archetype and find guidance that we may not have seen otherwise.

In Jungian psychology, these archetypes are viewed as part of the collective consciousness and therefore are already part of our own psyches.

No matter how you identify, these archetypes are within every single one of us and can be “tapped” into anytime and anyplace.

These archetypes are a part of the human collective consciousness.

So how do you work with an archetype in a tarot reading?

It’s all about the frame of mind – if you’re good at putting yourself in other people’s shoes, you can envision how this archetype would answer your question and interpret the cards.

For practice, you can use one of the archetypes from the tarot and meditate / study the imagery before or during the tarot reading.

During the tarot reading, you could ask the image / archetype how they would respond or any advice they may have to give in regards to the tarot spread or cards laid before you.

To work consistently with an archetype, meditation, journaling and studying about a particular archetype can be helpful to gain clearer perspective into the archetype and how you relate to this archetype.

To understand more about symbolism and archetypes, books on psychology may be an interesting place to start.

Examples such as Four Archetypes by C. G. Jung and Man and his Symbols by C. G. Jung.

Working with Mythological Figures in Tarot Readings

Similar to working with and studying archetypes, mythological figures can also be called upon for guidance and advice in tarot readings.

How you work with mythological figures in tarot readings will depend on your spiritual beliefs.

Mythological figures can be called upon for tarot reading advice and guidance in two ways:

• You either believe that the mythological figure is a representation of an idea, moral or ethical story and symbolizes an aspect of within yourself; or

• You believe that the mythological figure exists as an entity and can be called upon to give advice, wisdom and guidance.

There’s no right or wrong belief in either of these ways and each way can yield similar or just as valid interpretations, guidance and significant results in a tarot reading.

Whether you believe the mythological figure exists or not, you’re still “tapping” into the essence of that mythological figure and the energy that the name or entity contains.

Some possible mythological figures that could be consulted for advice in tarot readings could be:

• Baba Yaga

• The Fates

• The Furies

• The Norns

• Oracle at Delphi

• Medea

• The Valkyries

Before working with a mythological figure in a tarot reading, it’s best to do some research and study about the figure.

Find stories as far back and as original or authentic as you can find; have a look in libraries and in bookstores in addition to searching online.

Meditate on the mythological figure and really get to know more about them, who they were and what they’re all about.

Find pictures of the mythological figure and place their photo in your home, on your altar or some place where you can see it daily and while you do the tarot reading.

The more you learn and understand the mythological figure, the easier it will be to receive their advice, guidance and wisdom as you call upon the figure in your tarot reading.

Working with Deities in Tarot Readings

Working with deities in tarot readings can be similar to working with mythological figures.

This will also depend on your spiritual beliefs and how you view your relationship and connection to deities.

When starting to work with deities in tarot readings, it’s best to start with a pantheon that you’re familiar with and perhaps have worked with previously in your spiritual practice.

Just as it’s rude to walk up to someone you barely know and ask them to give you advice without introducing yourself or offering anything in exchange, it’s not ethical to simply barge upon a deity to give you advice right away.

If you have a working relationship with a deity, this will be easier for you.

You’ll have your own method for offerings in exchange for guidance and assistance that you can call upon during your tarot reading.

If you wish to work with a particular deity for advice and guidance in a tarot reading, but haven’t worked with that deity previously, take time to get to know the deity beforehand.

Spend a week or more researching and studying the deity through books, online, libraries, etc.

Find out as much as you can historically and in modern terms how to work with the deity, what they prefer for offerings, their mythologies and stories, etc.

You can even create a space in your home for the deity with photos, offerings, candles, etc. for the deity prior to the tarot reading.

If you don’t practice a spirituality that tends to the gods, you can still do research on the deity and the culture at that time to understand the mythology from a historical point of view.

The key is to understand the aspects and energy of the deity “inside and out” and connect with the energy and essence of the deity.

When you feel you understand and connect easily with the deity, you can find a prayer to the deity and recite it and/or make a small offering of food, wine or burning an anointed candle prior to the tarot reading.

When finished with a tarot reading after connecting with a deity, you can thank the deity in your own way, spend time in meditation or leave another offering at your altar.

Thank the deity in whichever way feels right to you.

To Believe or not to Believe in Deities, Archetypes and Mythological Figures in Tarot Readings

Whether you call upon your higher self, your spirit guides, your loved ones in spirit, your ancestors, mythological figures, archetypes or deities, tarot provides us a way to seek answers from a different perspective and to see things in a whole new light.

Even if you don’t “believe” in deities, archetypes or mythological figures as something that physically exists, you can still utilize these methods as a way to gain a different point of view which can sometime be easier than simply just imaging “Spirit” as this vast, intangible source.

Having something to visualize, to conceptualize and perceive can allow the mind to grasp onto an idea or perception that’s easier to understand.
“To believe or not to believe,” that is the question for you to ask when it comes to combining tarot, mythology and spirituality.

So, in our parting words herein:

How to Combine Tarot with Spellwork

Are you interested in learning how to combine Tarot with spellwork?

It’s not always easy to know if you should be doing a spell to fix a problem in your life or not. And if you should, which spell? And how do you know what mundane or inner work you should be doing alongside your magical workings to make them work better, quicker or succeed at all?

Divination is an essential skill for anyone who wishes to become truly effective in their magical workings. It allows you to not only see the potential futures you wish to create, but also allows you to look deep into your heart and see any potential internal obstacles, too.

A regular daily or weekly divination practice will also allow you to make use of charms, astrological timing or smaller spells to gently push your plans and goals along, too.

Understanding the Situation

The first step to doing any kind of magical working is to understand why you potentially need to do one in the first place.

You can pick any spread that you like for this part. I normally use this spread of mine to get a good view on what’s coming up, or a variation on the Celtic Cross to look deeper into a situation that’s bugging me.

Cards That Suggest Magical Solutions

When you’re doing your usual Tarot spreads, look for cards that indicate magical solutions.

Everyone sees Tarot slightly differently, and if you’re used to working with a specific deck then your view gets quite idiosyncratic.  I use primarily the Wildwood Tarot, deliberately because of its focus towards magic. Therefore some of these associations may not always match directly in line with a different deck. I’ve split up my cards here into cards that definitely, absolutely have magic messages within them across most or all decks, and another section of cards that do in my deck. I’ve changed their names into the Rider-Waite-Smith equivalent for ease of use.

The Magician & High Priestess

The Magician obviously and clearly indicates the need for magical intervention. If you’re pondering whether or not to do a magical working and this card comes up, it’s a definite yes. The High Priestess also indicates magical workings, but more often of the inner kind, or the informal kind.

Strength is a funny card. Sometimes it means looking after or improving your Will. Your True Will or Will is the generative force of your magic. It’s basically you saying ‘I intend this’ and it happening. Strength indicates the need to look after said Will, often by doing what you say you’ll do.

The Aces

The Aces are all about new solutions and ideas, and so can definitely indicate the benefit of magic. However, they also indicate the opposite if you’re too tied into the idea of doing a spell at all costs.

These are just a few cards that indicate performing magic, but they’re the most common in my experience.

What if the Cards Don’t Indicate that you Should use Tarot for Spellwork?

Unless the cards indicate a very specific course of action that does not include magic, you could still include a magical working in your plans. You could also do a spell, carry crystals or similar things to bolster your ‘mundane’ actions. A lack of cards indicating magic often means that there is an easier course of action to be had. Magic is not a last resort, but it certainly isn’t a first resort either. Sometimes you just gotta put your head down and work, or have a difficult conversation with someone. You can boost those actions with appropriate magic, but you can’t always avoid them.

How to Figure out Magical Solutions

Sometimes when you do your basic reading, the magical solution is obvious. A love spell, a protection spell etc. Sometimes, however, it isn’t that easy. Here’s a spread that’s designed to help you attack a problem from all angles:

Here is a spread to figure out magical solutions:

1 What’s the issue?

2 Which part of this can be fixed by magic?

3 What area of shadow or inner work should I focus on?

4 What mundane actions should I take?

5 What kind of spell or magical action should I take?

Divination is also important when you actually get down to doing the spell or working. One thing I always tell my students is ‘Don’t guess, know.’ Instead of trying to find or make a spell that catches all potential fallout or covers any limitations, divine what specific actions are actually needed. You save yourself so much more work and heartache in the long run.

Here’s a spread to improve your spellwork:

Spread to make sure you cover all bases when actually doing a spell

1 What’s another method of magical attack I could use?

2 What mundane work do I still have left to do?

3 What’s an obstacle that may arise?

4 How will I know the spell is successful?

Tarot (or any divination) is not a passive medium. It is not a prescription, or even a forecast. Used properly, it can help you overcome obstacles or even avoid some entirely. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Tarot should be an integral part of your magical practice because it allows you to put your magical workings into a larger plan rather than grasping at straws. Using Tarot in this way will genuinely save you time and effort, and make improving your life a lot easier.

Develop Precognition Abilities

Precognition is the ability to see the future and predict events. Precognition is the skill that divination practitioners and fortune tellers use to foresee things that are about to happen. If you develop precognition abilities, you can better predict likely outcomes in your love life, business projects, even sporting events.

Many people are raised to believe that only very gifted psychics or gypsy fortune tellers like myself have precognition – this is not true! Like all psychic abilities, everyone has precognitive abilities, but some people are naturally stronger than others. However, everyone can work on their precognitive abilities.

Below, I have given you some exercises which you can try to help you develop your psychic abilities and precognition. Give them a go and see how you get on!

Tip One: When The Phone Rings, Try To Predict Who Is Calling

One very simple thing you can do to develop your precognitive abilities is to try to project who you think will be on the other end of the house phone. Or, if your phone goes off in your pocket try to ‘sense’ who you think is trying to contact you.

Practicing this exercise will help you to gauge the energy of different people in your life. Then, when you have funny feelings or sense that something is going to happen you will be able to pinpoint the feeling to a precise individual. So, instead of just saying, “Something is going to happen” you will be able to say, “Something is going to happen to June”.

Tip Two: Predict Your Timeline

This is a pretty fun exercise. Before you go to bed, write down what you think is going to be on your social media timeline when you wake up. Who is going to post first? What are they going to say? How many new friend requests/followers are you going to have?

Again, this exercise will help you to predict events surrounding people, but you will be projecting what is going to happen in the future, not just the present as you would with the telephone calls.

Tip Three: Practice Divination To Develop Precognitive Abilities

If anything is going to increase your precognitive abilities, practicing divination will. By its very nature, divination will encourage you to make predictions all of the time. Precognition is like a muscle, the more you use it the more you build it!

You do not have to be super psychic to practice divination, anyone can. I recommend that you start with Lenormand cards as these are very good for building intuition and predicting general events. Using Lenormand, you can make very detailed predictions about your love life, career, even your social media platforms! You can find a free ‘Lenormand for Beginners’ guide at the end of this post.

Tip Four: Pay Attention To Intrusive Thoughts

I am a natural precog and I make predictions a lot. I even teach other people how to make predictions! One thing which I really notice about me is that before something or someone becomes a major feature in my life, I ‘notice’ them or become aware of their presence.

For example, I noticed this girl’s name on my social media a few weeks ago. We were not friends but she was friends with an associate of mine whom I followed on Instagram and I seen her comment on a post. I felt really, really drawn to her and had a proper snoop on her account (don’t judge me). A couple of days later, my friend’s (a different friend) boyfriend had left her for the girl whose account I was snooping on and it caused a big who ha. I guess I was drawn to her because she became relevant in my life.

Another example, months ago I remembered a reader (another blogger) which I used to be friends with but fell out with years ago. Her name just popped into my head so I went and snooped on her Facebook account (I know I need to get off my phone). I go scrolling and come to find out she had been going onto my website and stealing my images for her adverts!

You might think that you’re just being nosey, but if you feel really drawn to a person there is usually a reason for it and they will become relevant in the future. So, if you want to develop your precognition abilities you should pay attention to (and possibly even keep a record of) those intrusive thoughts.

Tip Five: Trust Yourself While You Develop Precognitive Abilities

This next tip is so cheesy but it really makes the difference when you’re working on your psychic development, especially your precognitive abilities. You have to trust yourself.

It goes back to what I said about a lot of people thinking that they have to be super psychic in order to practice divination and predict events. ANYONE can use divination and make predictions.

If you really want to develop precognitive abilities, if you want to take action instead of just thinking that you ‘might’ develop, I recommend that you go onto Amazon, order a ‘Lenormand deck’ and start making predictions on your general life, love life and other life areas which matter to you.

That’s all for how you can develop your precognitive abilities! I also have a free Lenormand for Beginners Guide. You can download that guide here

Gain Confidence As A Psychic Reader

How can you gain confidence as a psychic reader? Having anxiety before giving a psychic reading is perfectly normal. In fact, I would be worried if you weren’t anxious. Fear shows that you are excited, nervous, and eager to go in and do a good job. You want to please your clients; you pray that their reading fills them with hope for the future and happiness. Experiencing nerves before a reading is a positive sign.

Sometimes, however, your nerves can be crippling. You may suffer from imposter syndrome and, ironically, dread doing what you love. In that case, I have compiled a list of tips for things you can try if self-doubt has frozen you into inaction.

Relate To Others

I have been reading most of my life and for over 20 years. I am a Gypsy; my family are famous fortune tellers, and my gifts were encouraged when I was growing up. I have read celebrities, politicians, sportspeople, and had seekers from all over the world. At 24, I won an international award, Young Tarosophist of the Year, and I have been on the radio, in magazines, and on TV.

I also shit myself before every reading.

Yes, some would say that I have everything going for me. Most readers believe that I should be rolling in self-assurance. The reality is, that I still get that niggle of anxiety before every reading. Pretty certificates hanging on my wall do not shield me from self-doubt. At one point, I too struggle horribly and didn’t know how to gain confidence as a psychic reader.

I welcome my anxiety because I know it is a sign that I care about what I do, that I am connecting with my seeker, with spirit, etc. However, my anxiety has reduced with time, experience, and knowledge because I know that other readers have the same feelings I do.

One way to ease your anxiety is to talk about it with other readers; I guarantee that they will relate and make you feel better.  Hearing the stories of other psychics, mediums and fortune tellers can help not just beginners but more advanced readers with their confidence.

Realize That You Care

“Do not fear that you are doing a bad job. If you were doing a bad job, you would not care enough to worry about it. Anyone who does do a bad job usually always thinks that they are amazing. Anyone who is great at this often thinks that they are shit.”

Early in my career, these words were said to me by a fantastic Scottish medium. The medium, Gordon, explained that readers who stress about their readings are the types of readers who care about satisfying their clients. If you’re getting nervous, it means that you’re passionate about what you do and should be in this industry.

Know Yourself To Gain Confidence As a Psychic Reader

When I was younger, I had a lot of reader anxiety, which (I now know) stemmed from the fact that I didn’t know who I was, what type of reader I was, or anything. Being unaware of my strengths and weaknesses caused me to feel chaotic because I didn’t know what to expect from a reading, how to advertise myself, and how I managed to ‘perform.’ I literally just went in there, connected to something, and began reading.

As I got older, I pinpointed my reading style and worked out which spirits I connected with during readings. I increased my spiritual awareness by forming a personal relationship with spirit and mastered a form of divination, which was perfect for predictive, spirit-driven readings (Lenormand).

If you do not know yourself, then it’s hard to read someone else. Part of you senses that something is ‘off’ in a way, and this causes anxiety. Define your style and work on that, your strengths, and your weaknesses, and this will increase your confidence and bring your readings under control.

Meet Yourself To Gain Confidence As a Psychic Reader

A lot of reader anxiety comes from self-doubt. You may have ‘performed’ well a million times, but that doesn’t stop you from telling yourself that this time, you will fail. Every reading feels like a new reading and you’re stuck because you do not know how to gain confidence as a psychic reader.

In essence, this is a pretty flawed way to think. As a reader, you probably know this but just cannot break the habit of thinking this way. I recently read something, however, which gave me something to consider.

The book theorized that there are three layers of the self. There is your outer layer which you project to others, your inner fears and self-doubt (which is a result of criticisms) and your core, which is your true self, which is deep inside of you.

The true self is said to be where all of your strengths and positives lie and which you can utilize. When applied to psychic readings, there is an interesting question which you can ask yourself to discover your true reading skill level:

“What kind of reader are you when nobody is watching and judging you?”

Probably a good one! You’ve had psychic experiences. You live for Lenormand Tarot, astrology, mediumship, etc., not just when reading but when in the shower and after dropping the kids off at school or while walking to the shops. You may have a Tarot journal and enjoy making entries. You have many books and most likely have purchased your fair share of decks. You love spirituality.

Once you align your true self with your everyday self and get rid of any self-doubt, nothing is stopping you from being this confident reader constantly. In fact, nothing is stopping you from being amazing; deep down, you are already amazing! You just need tools to help you increase in confidence. Here is a visualization for aligning with your true, confident self:

1. Imagine what your true self is like. They are a confident, knowledgeable reader who can handle any situation which is thrown at them.

2. Imagine your true self is in front of you. Sense their calm and lack of reader anxiety.

3. Step into your true self. Become them. Feel their confidence, their self-belief, and any other positives that they display so naturally.

Try this visualization every day until you feel that you have truly become your true self.

Know That You Love What You Do

In the book “Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother,” the author (Amy Chua) makes the interesting point that no one likes anything until they are not good at it. I don’t necessarily believe this in all cases, but I do believe this point:

“No one loves anything which they are terrible at.”

Do you love reading? I mean, do you love it? You do, or you wouldn’t put so much pressure on yourself to do well. Therefore, you must have some ability; otherwise, why would you love doing something you were terrible at executing?

Give Yourself Credit

In the spiritual industry, there seems to be an air of negativity attached to thinking that you are good at something. It is more fashionable to point out your weaknesses than your strengths. The need to be overtly humble traps readers into feeling guilty about taking any pleasure from being praised.

Don’t worry; you’re not going to turn into a raving narcissist by acknowledging you’re a half-decent reader. After all, people who have an inflamed self-image do not worry about having one. Those who do not see fault in themselves are not self-critical; if you’re worried about becoming big-headed, that’s a sign that you’re not!

It is entirely fine for positive feedback to build your confidence. When you do something right, give yourself a pat on the back. Tell people about the excellent review you got, advertise yourself. Let others praise you for your hard work.

Note Your Achievements

You should keep a diary or notebook to remind yourself of all of the good things you have achieved. Got a great review? Write that down. Does someone makes a great comment? Write that down. Did you overcome your fears, and it wasn’t that bad? Take note of that.

Anytime you find yourself falling into the trap of worrying about giving a reading, take out your Achievement Folder and remind yourself of all of the positive things you have done and praise you have got. Even if they are just little comments someone makes, they can mean a lot when your confidence is at a low and you’re reading in 10 minutes. Reminding yourself of your strengths will help you to gain confidence as a psychic reader.

Control Your Empathy To Gain Confidence As a Psychic Reader

Many readers consider themselves in tune with other people’s emotions but do not consider that they may be picking up on the seeker’s anxiety. Have you ever thought that some of the anxiety which you feel is coming from the person receiving the reading as opposed to your own feelings?

I notice that when I travel to some places, my anxiety increases unexplainably. I live in West Lothian (Scotland) but also extremely close to the capital of Edinburgh. It is relatively uncommon in Edinburgh to let a reader into your home, many people who live there visit the reader’s homes or centers.

Those who have never had a reader come into their home are more anxious about letting a reader into their personal space for various reasons; one of the reasons being safety. I have realized that in these cases, my anxiety increases because I have empathized with the seeker.

It is, therefore, a good idea to try some blocking exercises before you meet a seeker. If you’re an empath, try to block their energy until the actual reading begins; it helps to elevate a lot of the stress associated with giving readings to strangers.

It also can be comforting to know that they are just afraid of you as you are of them! Remind yourself of this if you start to become self-critical.

That is how you can gain confidence as a psychic reader. It is important to note that reader anxiety does elevate with experience. I wish the best of luck to anyone who tries any of these strategies.
