8 Ten of Wands Tarot Meanings: Love, Outcomes, Feelings & More!

The meaning of the Ten of Wands Tarot card is ‘burden.’ The Ten of Wands is the card of hard work. When this card makes an appearance in a Tarot reading, you can be assured that there is much work to be done.

The Ten of Wands usually pops up in outcome or future positions. If this is the case for your reading, it means that, in the future, you’re going to have to put a lot of effort into whatever you’re reading about, more than you are currently.

Down the line, you’ll have to decide if you’re going to knuckle down and complete the challenge or throw in the towel when it gets too much. The Ten of Wands isn’t telling you what you’ll do; it only serves as a warning that things are about to get very difficult.

Ten of Wands General Tarot Meaning

The Ten of Wands shows up when you have a lot on your plate. You may be struggling with juggling work, family, and business obligations. You go to bed at night thinking about the mountain of things you have to accomplish the next day. It’s not surprising that you’re feeling overwhelmed.

You should take better care of yourself, as stress-related illnesses have a way of appearing as the Ten of Wands. Although it’s good to work hard, be sure to practice self-care and do ‘you’ now and then.

I often see the Ten of Wands with new parents, and this is a possible interpretation if childbirth and pregnancy are indicated. It’s likely that you have not taken to parenthood as easily as you previously thought you would. The sleepless nights and added responsibility could be getting to you.

At other times, the Ten of Wands is associated with trying to get business plans or work projects off the ground. I often see the Ten of Wands for business people. It can feel as though you’re pushing and pushing with no end in sight.

However, the design of the Rider-Waite Tarot deck implies that there is hope to be found with the Ten of Wands. Heavily influenced by the Sola Busca Tarot design, the Rider Waite Ten of Wands depicts an individual who is struggling to move a bunch of sticks. In the distance of the struggling figure, we see a nice, cozy environment. To remain committed, you must remind yourself that you’re working hard for a reason. The Ten of Wands is a sign that you’re pushing toward the life you want.

Ten of Wands Love Tarot Meaning

The Ten of Wands Tarot love and relationships
If you receive the Ten of Wands in a Tarot reading, you have to push really hard and apply yourself. However, isn’t that what life is about? The Ten of Wands symbolises the fact that nothing worth having comes easily. Step out of your comfort zone and apply yourself!

The Ten of Wands appears in love Tarot readings when the partnership brings you nothing but stress and burdens. You may love your partner, but the Ten of Wands warns that you will have to carry the weight for them in the future. You will be the one who takes care of everything, and may even have to be the main breadwinner in the household (if your partnership gets that far).

The Ten of Wands can come up when you feel as though you’re the only one fighting for the relationship. Usually, the Ten of Wands marks the beginning of a painful ending. If your relationship is ending (or you want to know if it will), I have written a more detailed outcome for my Love Tarot Meanings e-book

Ten of Wands Feelings Tarot Meaning

If you’re wondering what your partner’s feelings are toward you, then Ten of Wands means that there are some there, but that they’re not overly positive. The relationship seems to be too stressful for your lover to deal with and communicating with you has become burdensome. There’s also the possibility that you’re too clingy and don’t give them enough space.

Ten of Wands Career & Business Tarot Meaning

For business and career-orientated Tarot readings, the Ten of Wands is a typical card to see. Your career is difficult, and sometimes you can feel as though you’re putting in all of this effort and not seeing much return; the energy of these feelings is embodied in the Ten of Wands.

Tarot is advising you to realistically assess your business priorities and look at where you’re wasting your time, energy, and money. Have you been giving out too many freebies? Have you been posting your ads in Facebook groups to crickets? Or, have you surveyed your target market to see if they even want what you’re providing? It’s time to set down with a pen and paper before your naive approach destroys your company.

The Ten of Wands can also be a sign that you struggle with willpower and commitment. You’re never going to feel like doing something 100% of the time, and the Ten of Wands is telling you that you must push through these emotions and get to work anyway. Hard work will pay off, but only if you do the grafting.

Ten of Wands Future Tarot Meaning

The Ten of Wands in a future or outcome position of a Tarot card spread is a sign that you’re going to have to put in a lot of work and effort in the future. Although things are going to be hard for you, the end will be in sight. You sometimes may not feel as though you’re getting anywhere, but this is not the case. Keep moving, keep pushing now and in the future – you will eventually get your brighter tomorrow.

The Ten of Wands as a Negative, Weakness, or Obstacle

When the Ten of Wands appears in a negative, weakness, or obstacle Tarot spread position, it means you will want to give up because the effort you need to put in will become too much work. You are too stressed to keep going.

However, although it’s a card of heavy burdens, the Ten of Wands is a sign that you should not give up. If you keep pushing ahead, everything will work out for you. So, even if the Ten of Wands appears as a blockage, I recommend that you keep trying to hit your goals because eventually, you will be successful.

The Ten of Wands as a Positive, Strength, or Advantage

When the Ten of Wands appears in a positive, strength, or advantage Tarot spread position, this means you are persistent. You work demonically hard to get the things you want. Nothing can stop you from achieving your goals. You can put effort in areas where other people would not consider investing in. Therefore, having the Ten of Wands in a positive position is a good sign, as it means you’ll work hard until you see success.
